It happened suddenly, and unexpectedly, the event that would change The World forever. Deep within the keep, at the very heart of the corruption, the Herald, Als was alone and unarmed, the last of the survivers of the Keep. She had fought long and hard to keep her seceret safe. No one deserved the power of the Necros. In the wrong hands it would be disasterous, utterly horrifing to think about. So Als conforted her self that no one would be able to find her in the room she had choosen as an abode. But it was simply not to be.
The tear started mid-day as a small little pinhead of a thing in the wall opposite the door. Als had only begun to notice it as it had grown to a handwidth, the nothing swirling in its depths. The herald had quickly decided to leave. But it had been too late already. The doors had been locked by the force beyond the portal, although what the force had been, the herald had not known. It had not taken her long to find out. The portal had opened not long after, exposing the three figures who stepped from the obvlion into the room, quickly shutting the path behind them. This is where the story continues.
----
Als huddled on the floor of the room the bare grey light from the sky above barely fliting into the forsaken room before leaving again from whence it came. It was enough to illiuminate the three figures only breifly, only enough to show the glint of an eye, the hilt of a sword. But apparently it was enough.
"Give us some light Illianna." came the voice, a deep almost grunting sound. Suddenly without warning a ball of red light flared in the center of the room, illuminating the trio. The one holding the light was wearing all red and carried an air of death around her. a pair of swords, both which looked foreign in nature hung from her sided. The second was a large bull like figure who, Als would have sworn was a cow if not for the way that he walked on two legs. He was the biggest of the trio and carried an enormus Great Axe strapped to his back. He was also dressed in foreigh clothes that looked like they had see many battles, covering his form in a dark metalic glint.
The final participant was perhaps the most evil looking of them all. resembeling the demons of legend, he carried one Katana and was dressed in all black. He was also bald and extremely pale. He was the clear leader of the pack, standing in front of the other two as though having led them through the portal.
he spoke next, with a voice akin to a hiss, so sinister was it .
"I do not think they can follow us here, although who knows what this world is. He turned for a moment, opposite the corner Als was hidden in, and sniffed the air. "It smells of magic here. And something else.. Frowning he brought his hand to his chin and spoke out loud."This place stinks of death. Perhaps we are in the right place after all."
Then quite suddenly, the man turned on the spot and pinned her against the wall. Als wasn't quite sure how he did it, as he was really about ten feet from her, and he was definately the one cutting off her circulation. "What is this place, woman? I will know if you lie or if you do not tell me the full truth. I come from a place where my magic is the most powerful thing in existance. Tell me now."
Suddenly, and Als was not sure exactly why or how it happened, she began to tell him everything she knew, From the Old Histories to the legend of the swords, to how she had been turned into the catyalst for the Necros. None of this had suprised the man, and he had seemed to absorb the knowledge faster than Als could talk. Suddenly she realized that she couldn't have not told this man what he wanted to hear. There was no way. The word catyalst did seem to spark a reaction however.
" I once had my plans foiled by a catyalyst, you know." and with that he snapped her neck, not even blinking as he did so.

It had been rather easy to get everything he had wanted out of the girl. And he had known from the minute she had talked about being linked to the Swords herself, he had just had to kill her. The power rushed to him embuing him with the power of the Sword. He knew now that he would be vastly more powerful with this Necros at hand. No one would be able to defeat him once he obtained the other swords. And then he could reforge the Great Sword. A simple task, it seemed.
Finally after a little thought, he turned to the other two and said "Come, we have much to do." and had walked straight out of the room, headed into the forest towards the other two Heralds. The woman had conveinently remembered to tell him the locations of the other Heralds. And two of them were in the forest. Destiny it was, the thought to himself, that brought me to this world. It was going to be fun indeed.
