Once upon a time, there was a Legendary sword, said to control the fate of the world, said indeed to be the harbinger of doom by some, and said to be the Hope for The World by others. The blade was, however, lost during a Great War that was said to have been with the Forest itself, the trees having come alive in order to wipe the sword from existance. No one was ever sure what had become of that battle, but many assumed that the forest had won; No evidence of the sword had been seen after the battle.
The growing Turbulence between the Races of The World soon caused the sword to be forgotten and lost to all but those most versed in their worlds lore. War would eventually break out among the races, fueled by a group called The Descent, who were lead by an unknown man who had gained a sword of legendary proportions. A single year into the war, the leader of the Descent would be on the steps of the last free city, having conquered everything in his reach within The World. It would be then that he would explain the enormous power of the Sword Explaining that it was what had lead him to victory. However, before he could claim his ultimate victory he would disappear completely. This in turn would cause the sword to be broken into pieces, and scattered throughout The World.
Now once again, a blade of legendary proportions has been discovered. But, it seems that not one but seven of these all-powerful blades have been discovered within the World. Some have theorized that they are the Shards of The Sword that have been reforged into separate blades. If this were true, than the wielder of all of those blades would once again be able to stake a claim to The World.

The Fangs of the Elder Dragon.

Shard of the Forgotten.
Fell Power; All of the Swords but The Halegedra possess this power. Infusing the power of the wielder into the sword, and rendering the wielder powerless, it allows the sword to reach a very powerful form of enlightenment, allowing for more advanced abilities which are always the expansion of the swords powers. This takes the knowledge of the Heralds, as well as a few other things in order to unlock. It is said that The Necros already exists in this form, and that its power in this form is almost double the power of the other swords when they achieve this form.
Holy Mode All of the Swords but The Necros possess this power. Infusing the power of the sword into the wielder, and rendering the weapon merely an extension of the wielder, it allows the sword to reach a very powerful form of enlightenment, allowing for more advanced abilities which are combinations of the swords powers as well as the wielders powers. This takes the knowledge of the Walkers, as well as a few other things in order to unlock. It is said that The Halegedra already exists in this form, and that its power in this form is almost double the power of the other swords when they achieve this form. In addition to that, it is said that the Weapon takes on the form of the power it gives, such as transforming into a Great-axe or bow.
Both forms have yet to be successfully achieved by anyone

This was as it stood almost 10,000 years ago. The Heralds Walked abroad, seeking those who were to wield the swords in their stead.
But during their Search, some un-expected things happened, Things like the Ancient Leaders of the World awakening. But even so, Even with some of their number turned against them, The heralds still had hope. Still they hoped to combat the evils of the world with the power they wielded. But the only group of adventurers who might have proved spirited enough to take down the Old Leaders were lost to something in the bowels of the old floating castle the Leaders called home.
Not long after the plight of the Adventurers, however, someone DID rise up to conquer the Leaders. The wielder of the blade the Necros, Xar began striking down the leaders one by one, each time growing more powerful, somehow absorbing the abilities of the Old Leaders to become more powerful than before. And finally after almost a thousand years of Struggle, Xar, given immortality by the Necros, was ruler of the Realm. But there was no one for him to rule. Almost everything that had existed in the world had been completely decimated by his battles with the Leaders. Even the Heralds, those who had wielded the Swords had gone out of the World. for there was nothing left.
Eventually even Xar, he who had hoped to rule the world through sheer strength of personality faded from the Worlds memory, and life began to come anew; the once lost races seeming to repopulate almost over night. And over thousands of years, a new order was established, a new kind of world, bound by the people, where those of magical origins learned to live beside one another in a kind of harmony, the world once again at peace. But it was a piece not to last.
In the 9,900 years between the Leaders Destruction and the establishment of the new Cities and Governments of the world, the worst thing to happen, the worst thing that could have happened was a natural disaster, an Earthquake to be precise. The earthquake shook the foundations of the new world order, not because of the event itself, but because of what the event created. As a land imbued with Magic, The World began to rebel against the people who had forgotten about magic, forcing magic on people; making them unique in a way that hadn't been seen since the Last Walking of the Heralds. It also began phasing things out of reality, utilizing the huge amount of energy to pull together things that shouldn't have been, pulling from other places as well as the world itself, Creating the Shadow Realms; Places where both wonderful and terrifying creatures existed, born from this horrific cataclysm. This in turn caused panic; People didn't know how to deal with these new things from the Shadow realms; They had never known violence.
Thus, building on the large remnants of power left over by the shadow realms, the New Day company was formed in order to "Keep the Peace." And so they did. Even if their methods were unorthodox, they managed to keep the peace, removing obstacles to peace and anything else in their way. Many had no problems with this. After all, they reasoned, It is for peace. But some people began to think that the New Day Company was overstepping their boundaries, Doing things that should be considered evil.
Thus the Resistance was formed, as a direct opposition to the New Day company.
One final effect of the catastrophic event was the Re-Awakening of the Heralds. Thus the Blades were re-released onto the world. But the heralds, weak from their long slumber, were easy prey for the New Day.
Thus no one knows what truly has happened to the Seven Blades. The few who had heard of their almost legendary powers conjectured, but none could truly make an accurate prediction. After all, the blades had been gone so long....
Now we come to the present day. The New Day Company has taken over many aspects of life and the resistance, while still holding out, seems to be faltering.
That is where we stand.
